Last year was Jennifer Hudson's year and she was supposed to have an album released, but her label decided to scrap it halfway through and start all over again. Damn J-Hud! I heard a leaked song last year called "Special" with Papoose that I actually liked, but I'm sure they scrapped that too.
The frontman for One Republic who has some writing credit's on my girl's upcoming album had this to say about her and her CD,
“They made half an album and ended up scrapping it. Clive — wisely, I think — said, ‘No one’s going to buy this. We’re trying to turn her into Aretha Franklin, and that’s not realistic,’ ” Tedder said. “They scrapped a bunch of songs and started fresh. I heard a Timbaland song that was by far the best song she’s done. I do wish, and I know the label wishes, that this album had come out six months ago. But Clive’s smart. He didn’t want to just put out a crap album just because of the momentum.
“The sales weren’t as good as I wanted them to be and to be honest, I did feel sad about that for a little while. I felt that the industry was fickle and for a minute, I felt like I didn’t want to be a part of that any more. I feel that the label should have promoted it more the first time around. But they’re excited now, so that’s all that counts.”
JR Rotem who produced "Beautiful Girls" and Nate "Danjahandz" Hills who has worked with Timbaland and some of Britney songs on "Blackout" will have production on her re-released CD. The first single off of it is the song "Daylight" which I actually like!! Hope everything goes will for my baby mama!
