Warren G Charges Thrown Out!

Rapper Warren G was pulled over yesterday for running a red light and got busted for possession of marijuana with "intent to sell!"

Well today the judge dropped the charges because of "insufficient evidence" to connect Warren and his passenger to the weed found in the car. The vehicle belonged to neither one of them so they prosecution couldn't prove it was theirs. Ah Ha LAPD! This one negro you won't get to prosecute. I say he gets his own reality show to talk about it! Everybody else seems to be getting one!

Change Labels Janet!

Janet, what did you really think by going to the same record label that Mariah is on and expecting to get the type of publicity a star your status should have. Tsk Tsk tsk. Janet discusses her lack of promotion for Discipline that her label has given her.

Janet Jackson has aired her frustrations with Island Def Jam, whom she claims is no longer supporting her label debut, "Discipline." The album has sold 392,000 copies in the United States since its February release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Jackson told SOHH.com that Island discontinued promoting "Discipline" after her single, "Rock With U," failed to chart. Additional friction apparently resulted from Island also releasing "LUV" as a single, despite Jackson's wish that "LUV" be worked on its own.

"Luv" peaked at No. 34 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, while the first single released from the new album, "Feedback," reached No. 39.

In a statement released exclusively to Billboard, an Island Def Jam spokesperson says, "Unfortunately we haven't experienced the results we would have liked with this new album. But we respect and support Janet."

Jackson further claimed that due to dwindling label support, she won't be able to visit Europe as part of her upcoming Live Nation-promoted Rock Witchu tour, which begins Sept. 7 in Vancouver.

However, the Island Def Jam spokesperson says the label "has nothing to do with Janet's tour."

T. I. inks three-picture deal!

Screen Gems inked a three picture deal with rapper/actor T.I. this week that is slated to launch with the rapper appearing in the crime drama “Bone Deep.”

The move comes just after T.I.’s deal with MTV as previously reported on realest niggas, which involves a reality series that will cover the 1,000 hours of community service he is slated to perform before heading off to serve his sentence next year.

In “Bone Deep,” the first of the three picture deal, T.I. joins Matt Dillon and Idris Elba in the film about a group of bank robbers who pull off a daring high rise heist and are dragged into one last job by a freshly paroled cohort according to Variety.

T.I. who has also also appeared in “American Gangster”and “ATL” will later star in the second Screen Gems film entitled “Boulevard,” a drama in development with the third picture to be determined at a later date.

According to recent reports, the movie work will be scheduled around the legal complications faced by the star. [ha ha]

Mediatakeout.com is reporting that rapper Lil Wayne might be headed to a drug-treatment facility as a plea deal with Arizona prosecutors.

Wayne currently faces 3 felony charges in Arizona - stemming from an incident earlier this year where police found drugs and guns in his possession. The insider explained to MediaTakeOut.com, "Under the deal, [Wayne] wouldn't go to jail, [instead] he'd spend some time in a rehab facility - preferably Meadows Rehab Center ... They're working out a way to make it so that [Lil Wayne] can still meet all his current [booked performances] and it won't mess with the release of his album The Carter 3 next week."

I am issuing this heartfelt statement to announce that Dawn Robinson & myself have reconciled our previously damaged marriage & by the grace of God we are back together & deeper in love than ever. There have been things said that were exaggerated unfortunately, & yet there have been lessons learned at the same time. We are all flawed. If you have been keeping up with the news, Janet was hospitalized with influenza earlier this week so she had to cancel her performance this week. *R&B singer India.Arie will bring her talent to the Great White Way this summer in the first Broadway revival of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf."


Whoopi Goldberg and DreamTeam Entertainment Group will serve as executive producers of the work, which is based on Ntozake Shange's book of the same name and presents the stories of seven women of color from the African Diaspora.


Arie, born India Arie Simpson, will head the company at a theatre to be announced this summer. Shirley Jo Finney will direct the production, while Tony winner Hinton Battle has signed on as choreographer.

Previews of the Obie-winning drama will begin on or about July 15 with an opening on or about Aug. 2, according to Playbill News. The supporting cast and its home theater have yet to be announced.

The production's original run was nominated for a Tony Award in 1977 for Best Play, and Trazana Beverley won a Tony in the category of Best Actress in a Featured Role (Play). The original Broadway company also featured Laurie Carlos, Risë Collins, Aku Kadogo, Janet League, Paula Moss and Ntozake Shange.

Jill Scott to star in HBO series

Our girl Jill Scott is set to have a role in HBO's new series...

Scott will be starring in "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency," a new series for HBO which is based on an adaptation of Alexander McCall Smith's popular series of detective novels.

So far HBO has ordered 13 episodes, beginning with a two hour pilot co-written and directed by Anthony Minghella which was shot last summer. BBC viewers will have their chance to watch the pilot in the form of a stand alone film next month, while HBO plans to use the pilot as the first episode of the new series, which is scheduled to go into production this summer and launch next first quarter.

Fat Joe: “It’s a new breed of internet guys and internet thugs. The point is this. 50 Cent got 30 cops with him all day. When you on the radio with 50 Cent and your laughing and he’s disrespecting Fat Joe, and your wife is Remy Martin and she’s disrespecting Fat Joe on the radio, I [had to] see you [Papoose] the next day. I had no choice but to ask dude if he had a problem, cause he was acting like he did.”

Papoose: “The next thing I know Fat Joe busts in the door with about nine of his bodyguards, jumping in my face, asking me do I gotta a problem with them. Album Review: New Amerykah, Part One: 4th Ward War

Mrs. Badu returns after a five year hiatus to bring us New Amerykah. Part One of the series takes us straight from earth, past the planets occupied by Kelis and Missy Elliot and onto another planet inhabited by her comtemperaries Andre3000 and MosDef. With a ting her and a off the wall voice here, she has no intentions of making a mainstream album on this effort. The single "Honey" is used as a ploy, and a very good one at that because none of the other songs on the CD is anything remotely close to it. No particular catchy choruses and verses. The song "Me" and "New Amerykah Promise" are our favorites CD. This is not a CD you really can bump one or two songs on, you have to listen to it all the way trough. Go Cop it!!

Widow wants Lauryn Hill for upcoming biopic

Rita Marley, widow of Bob Marley, wants The D-Lo's all-time favorite singer Lauryn Hill for her upcoming biopic, she tells Billboard this....

"Lauryn would be ideal [to play me]" said Marley. Her husband's son with Janet Hunt, Rohan, is married to the troubled singer, who largely disappeared from the music scene after her acclaimed 1998 debut solo album. "She sees my life as her life." Hill will vet the adaptation currently being written by Lizzie Borden ("Working Girls"), who is down in Jamaica completing the script.

Rapper Juvenile's daughter was gunned down along with her mother and sister today TMZ reports,

Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr. allegedly gunned down his mother, Gwinnett County Sheriff's Deputy Joy Deleston, 39, and her two daughters, Micaiah, 11, and Jelani, 4.

Jelani was Juvenile's daughter. In 2003, the rapper, whose real name is Terius Gray, was arrested for abandonment of a dependent child after a DNA test determined he was the father.

Terrell, a sophomore at Central Gwinnett High School, has been charged with three counts of murder and three counts of aggravated assault. He is currently being held in the DeKalb County Jail.

A rep from Atlantic Records had no comment.

Our condolences goes out to Juve, his family, and the family of his baby's mother...This some crazy shizznett.....

Hailing from Louisville, Ky, he produced the mega-hit "Are You That Somebody" by Aaliyah off the Dr. Dolittle Soundtrack and made an appearance in the music video. The New York Daily News reports Def Jam Recordings president Jay-Z, Bad Boy CEO Sean Combs and Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine all battled to sign 14-year-old R&B singer Karina Pasian. The three hip hop titans had a 10-day high-stakes bidding war to sign the teen described as a cross between Alicia Keyes and Whitney Houston - before Jay-Z dramatically trumped his competitors with a "seven-figure deal." A Def Jam rep confirmed Monday that the label just signed Pasian, but wouldn't get into specifics. R&B Singer Ne-Yo Arrested!!

Ne-Yo has been arrested in Cobb county, right outside Atlanta according to Bossip.com (whom we don't like...) for reckless driving!!

Beyoncé is going to have the best coach in the biz when she takes on the role of Etta James in Cadillac Records, a forthcoming movie about Etta's life. The legendary singer tells PageSix.com exclusively that she's going to be advising the "Bootylicious" star herself.

"It's a privilege and an honor to have somebody like that girl. I don't think she looks like me, but that's all right. They can fix that up," Etta tells us.
And appearance isn't all Beyoncé will have to work on.

"Oh my god, she's going to have a hill to climb, because Etta James ain't been no angel!" she says.



Producers have informed Etta that she'll get the chance to consult with the 26-year-old Destiny's Child star, giving her pointers on both the acting and the singing — the latter being something the "At Last" singer was most concerned with when she got wind of the casting.

Of her many hits, Etta feels, "I have my own way of putting those songs over, and I was just wondering if Beyoncé could, and my son said, 'They're thinking about how she looks, but mama, she can really sing!'"

It was the Dreamgirls star's performance at the Grammys earlier this month that won Etta over, when Jay-Z's main squeeze rocked "Proud Mary" with Tina Turner.

"I kinda have a man's voice. It's a contralto, more bluesy, religious. I would really like to work with her on that," the 70-year-old songstress says.

Of her life lessons, Etta, who battled heroin addiction for many years, says, "I can tell Beyoncé some things; some of the things I might not tell her."

She does stress that the emotional transformation Beyoncé must undergo will have to be a little intense.

"I wasn't as bourgie as she is, she's bourgeois. She knows how to be a lady, she's like a model. I wasn't like that... I smoked in the bathroom in school, I was kinda arrogant, so those are some of the things I would want to tell her."

The flick will co-star Adrien Brody (reportedly replacing Matt Damon) in the role of music exec Leonard Chess, as well as Cedric the Entertainer and Jeffrey Wright.

The meeting between the divas will be happening soon, as sources tell us filming is scheduled to start on March 10 in New Jersey, with two days on location in Mississippi.


Miss James, many have tried to make Beyonce an actress, none have succeeded, good luck with that task!! While u at it, teach teach that bytch how to properly sing!!

OMFG!!! I thought I loved Amy Winehouse but I think i someone's trying to take her spot. I just hear this artist named Duffy out of England and she is exceptional!! She gives off the same vibe as Amy, but a little more polished. I'm diggin this whole 60's throwback vibe this UK artists giving me. Now if only we can get American artists to get like that. In Movie News: Beyonce and will.I.am set to star in upcoming flicks....

Billboard.com is reporting that B will be star in and executive produce (wow) in the movie "Cadillac Records."

Knowles will play Etta James in the 1950s period filmr about the Chicago record company Chess Records; its founder, Leonard Chess; and the turbulent lives of some of the label's legends, who included Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf and Chuck Berry.

A portion of the proceeds from the film will go to the families (again, not her idea) of recovering addicts. Other castmates will include Cedric the Entertainer, Adrian Brody, Jeffrey Wright, and Colombus Short....




They are also reporting that will.I.am will be making his debut in a spin-off of the "X-Men" franchise. His character will be a mutant who has the power to turn translucent (which means clear and able to see through for all u slow bodies.) Hope this works for him cuz going solo sure didn't....

R&B Singer Tank: "Don't Tase Me Bro!"

An inside source has told Bossip about a shocking event that took place last night outside of a New Orleans nightclub. The source, a woman, and Tank were leaving the club and walking to meet their driver when they encountered a police roadblock. Apparently, there’d been a shooting. According to the source, the police were very rude in telling the two that they couldn’t walk through the area. Like a gentleman, Tank spoke up for himself and his lady friend, telling the cops they didn’t have to speak to them in the way they did.

The two were walking away from the scene when out of nowwhere 3 cops tackled Tank and began using tasers on him. He was arrested on a number of counts, including disorderly conduct, and just released on bail moments ago.

This is really messed up. One time in cities across the country are still abusing their power. Something’s gotta give.

Getting tasered is quite funny for me! I wish somebody would find a video!!
